About the book
Straight-laced, veterinary surgeon, Summer Wynters is ready to break the rules. And who better to break them with than the most irreverent of all men, mega rock star Malcolm Angel? With one last summer free from work obligations, Summer moves to New York City, and at the coaxing of her friend, pretends to be a model so she can spend one wild night with Malcolm.
Rock star, Malcolm Angel, tortured by a dark past, may be the poet laureate of romance, but he, like science-minded Summer, has never believed in romantic love. How could he? With his history, he doesn’t deserve to be loved.
When Summer’s honesty, kindness, and exuberance for life changes his perspective, the two discover they are in deeper than either dreamed possible. But when Malcolm discovers Summer’s been perpetuating a lie, will he forgive her? Even if forgiveness is possible, can a man immune to love teach someone else to believe in it?
Fan of sexy rock star and second chance love? If your answer is yes and it should be, then you should definitely pick up Catherine Goldstein’s latest release Summer of Irreverence. It has all the feel good elements that I find very important to any good read. I will admit I was slightly nervous before decided to give Summer of Irreverence a chance despite the fact I’ve enjoyed previous work of Catherine, but that was within a different genre lucky me her talents knows no bounds.
Summer Wynters wanted to experience life with a manly man before settling down to complete her studies as a vet surgeon and what better way to do that then to bed the hottest rock star Malcolm Angel. Summer didn’t have any expectations further than a one night tryst in the sheets, but due to a small misunderstanding things did not go as plan. One would say things went better than expected Summer was granted a do over date with Malcolm. Like many heroines Summer was an introvert and didn’t think much of herself. She even has the outgoing model bestfriend that I felt bad for, but I’m sure that could be another story.
Malcolm Angel is on top of his game and does not have a care in this world or at least that’s the persona he projects to his adoring fans. Outside of the public and when no one is looking he’s dealing with demons from his past and takes solace in the quiet life with his aging Lab, Winston. I can honestly say I can appreciate a man that takes care of his dog and make him his best friend. Something about it screams sexy nurturer.
Attraction aside Summer and Malcolm come from two different worlds, both seeking something they’ve been missing. Will this rendezvous be more than an escape from reality or become something more? Thank you Catherine Goldstein for allowing me to enjoy more of your work. Can’t wait to enjoy more.
