One day I was be-bopping along jamming to the music in my head while wondering if my thighs could handle grabbing a cupcake on the way home. The next thing I knew, my entire world crashed and burned.
I used to wake up at night in a sweat, crying because I’d dreamt that my husband was cheating on me, or that he hated me, and resented my kids. He’d always hold me close and tell me it was all just a dream, that he loved me and our family and that he’d never let me go.
He was a f*cking liar.
Now I spend my days taking photos of scum just like him, trying to be a champion for other's being taken advantage of by the losers in our town, and my nights being a single mom to my beautiful twins.
I've got great friends who have my back, and a sexy, mysterious motorcycle man who keeps showing up when I need him. Maybe things are starting to look up, and one thing's for sure... There's always room for cupcakes
Thank you Bethany for making me feel so much better about my ice cream accidiction, while I’m trying to cut back I still need it for major moments. Should I mention that I’m eating ice cream now, anyway I digress. Always Room for Cupcakes is one of those witty, romantic comedy, feel good with a dash of sexy and mystery books. I thoroughly enjoyed every page.
Delilah “Lila” Horton life was turned upside down after catching her husband and children’s father in the backside with his face where it should not be. After that life changing moment she put her new found photography skills to use by working for a local PI, who may or may not have had some shady practices. While making a quick getaway from one her adventures she kind of was rescued by a sexy man on a bike, nothing unordinary about that.
Cade happens to be that breathe of fresh air that Lila needs from her stale world. This guy actually comes from nowhere and takes charge and makes her feel special and giddy.While Cade is a semi main character I still feel like he’s a mystery, fingers crossed there’s another book in the works with some valuable deets on this man.
Always Room for Cupcakes is told solely for Lila’s POV, which I’m normally not a fan of but that way the story flowed made me fall in love with the story. Even the secondary characters were interesting and realistic without being over the top.I would be an very excited reader if and when Ms. Lopez decides to make a followup story.
