Guess who's back...me

Fitness Friday photo Fitness Friday_zpsduep1l91.png

So I’ve wanting to get back to writing for some time and I’m not exactly sure what’s been stopping me other than myself. I had this thought I had to write so many paragraphs to make a post then it dawned on me this in my personal place and I can do whatever I want to do, it not like anyone is currently reading any of this.

Back to the matter at hand I have been working out for a solid 2 and a half months and I’m enjoying it. Full disclaimer I have missed a day or 2 but I’ve count them as rest days and got back to it. While I don’t believe I’ve lost any real weight my clothes are fitting more loosely and it feels amazing that I’ve kept this thing going. So this moment right here is a major non scale victory.

Workouts I’ve completed thus far

What I did was combined the 2 programs to get a better variety and it was fun and doable. I set my alarm for 5 and it was painful in the beginning but now it's a habit that I want to keep up with. My journey is still a non scale goal, but more so gain everything else confidence, endurance, strength mental health, and accountability. Not to say I won’t keep up with my measurement and weight because I want to be able to track my progress, but the physical will just be an added bonus.

My current workouts for December
  • Jenny Ford’s 30 Day Fitness Challenge for Steppers - this workout here is the business when it's a cardio day I sweat like never before and weight days I feel it the next day. I honestly believe I will repeat this once I’m done. I have had to switch out step videos because the moves are too advanced for my skill set.

  • Fitness Blender’s 4 week Low Impact - let me say low impact does not mean easy this always has a mixed of cardio and weight. The mix of workouts are about 30 minutes and it keeps me motivated and a productive start for my day.

My eating hasn’t exactly changed which is probably why I haven’t seen major changes. I have decreased the amount of fast food I eat and started adding homemade green smoothies to my life. Not only is it an easy way to get fruits and veggies, but my kids like them too. It's a win for everyone.

BlogTour: Brooke Harris - Scrubs Part 1

Scrubs - Brooke Harris
Publication date: Dec. 4th 2015
Series: Part 1
Genre: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance
Goodreads * Amazon * B&N

I like fast cars, beautiful women and great sex.
I hate drugs. I can’t stand the idiots who take them and I loathe the bastards who supply them. Drugs cost me my whole world.
I wear many faces; right now I’m Doctor Lucas Callaghan and I’ll be him until I get my revenge.
My real name will be the last words to ever pass their lips.

I hate my name, Aoife Brennan, as soon as people hear it they treat me differently because of my father.
Medical school isn’t my dream, it’s his. But, it’s the least I owe him after everything I’ve done. I’m trying to be a good girl, but even good girls make mistakes.

He’s lying about who he is, she’s kidding herself about who she can be. They’re polar opposites with one very big secret in common.‬

 photo picadillygray_zpsaa73e183.png

I can honestly say Scrubs is off to a good start,I’m mildly entertained and will continue to read the series. While cliffhangers normally put me in that gimme gimme mold this one not so much maybe because I was hoping for a jaw dropping and clutch my pearls moments. Again I was very much entertained while reading this rather quick series. It did have one of my favorite forbidden pleasures : teacher -student relationship, granted its off to a rocky start, but whatever.

Sean/Lucas loses his fiancee while he was in med school, of course he blames himself and his life is thrown off course. His new profession is very much of course from being a doctor and now he’s undercover at his old school, but I don’t know why. He’s also looking into the man that basically runs the town and again I don’t know why. These are a few things I have to know and Brooke’s writing was intriguing enough to keep me hooked for the answers. While on this assignment a young woman catches his attention is a way he never expected.

It doesn’t take long for him to learn while posing as a professor she a student. Aoife, sadly is wasting her time trying to become a doctor when her heart is full of art. Struggling with trying to please her father, who happens to be a very prominent doctor, she finds herself having to chose between loyalty and love. Thankfully Aoife doesn’t have one of those entitled attitudes which makes her so enjoyable. She actually wants to help people and she’s seems quite geniue in her approach.

Scrubs is told with a dual POV. Brooke’s writing is fast pace intriguing, but at the same time you feel like you weren’t given enough to leave you with a hanger. I so happen to crave that feeling. Fingers crossed when the second installment is released not only will some questions be answered, but I’m left with a hangover. I’m still not sure how I feel about the ending while it was a cliffhanger it felt more so like the end of a scene. Yes I have a ton why and who questions that I would love to know. Thank you Brooke for introducing me to your work and currently I’m patiently waiting for this story to unravel and the pieces to fall in order.

 photo picadillygray_zpsaa73e183.png

I’m not exactly sure which caught my attention first, but the blurb intrigue more very much. So I decide to reads the reviews, which were basically down the middle, so I didn’t exactly know what to expect. One Last Song is one of those stories that will stay with you for days after the last page. I will admit there were a few times I had to put this one down for a few days and come back due to frustration, but I didn’t give up on the story and I glad that I didn’t .

We’re given a glimpse inside the life of Saylor, she suffers of Munchausen Syndrome and is continuously self inflicting harm to herself each time more elaborate than the last. I often wondered what her endgame was, she said didn’t want to die. Everything about her made me crazy, it's like get over yourself, find something something that makes you happy. I felt conflicted about her parents while they took care of and came to her side whenever she would harm herself, no one should expect them to enable her poor decision.Later its l Everything about Saylor was in the gray area.

Things began to change when Saylor became part of a young terminally ill disease support group. While initially it started as research for her next “fix’, then Drew Dean caught her attention and open her opens to a different world. I like Drew, he brought his own version of light to this dark and disturbing read. I won’t say that meeting her stop hurting herself, but being around Drew and his friends did make Saylor feel something. That’s when the story honestly started to pick up for me which was well after the 50% mark.

As fate would have it Saylor is found out as not being terminally ill and everyone hates her for their own reason, but I felt some kind of way about that. While Saylor’s disease was not terminal, but it could have ended her life if she took it that far. It was her own personal hell that she could not shake for various reasons, her family and doctors could not just fix her. While she went about doing things the wrong way, I feel the misunderstanding between Saylor and Drew that lead her to be apart of his friends support group save her life.

One Last Song is my first experience with S.K. Falls’s work and I believe she took a very delicate situation and made it eye opening. No one character was free from problems, but that made things so much more real. Saylor’s story was told from solely her POV and it was well written. I will admit the pace did NOT pick for me until well after the 50% mark so if you’re going to go down this path be patient and stay strong it will get better. This story is not for the easily squeamish, but it does give you a small hope for a happy ending.

Book Review: Resentment by Nicole London

Resentment - Nicole London

Released:Oct.29, 2015
Series: None
Contemporary, Romance, New Adult, Erotica

Synopsis:
Re•sent•ment

The act of hating – no, fucking loathing Dean Collins. (Yes, I’m well aware that’s not the actual definition, but it might as well be . . .)

It’s been ten years since we've seen each other and the feelings are still as strong.

I’m not going to bore you with all the details of how our love was once intoxicating, consuming, and perfect.

Because it was . . . until it wasn't.

I've been fine without him. I haven’t missed his cruelty, his coldness and his spite.

And after the ugliest breakup in the history of breakups, I forced myself to move on.

Year by year, the feelings I had for him slowly drifted away, but one encounter with him recently changed everything. One encounter made me realize how the heart doesn't forget shit, and how my mind is going to have to work overtime to make sure I never forget my definition of resentment.

 photo black_zps584f1581.png

Squeee, round of applause, gasp, shut the front door, just a few emotions I’m feeling after completing Resentment. Especially since this just so happens to be Nicole London’s debut novel, needless to say I will continue to check for whatever works she puts out.I could not believe I actually got caught up in my feels, it was a great things tho.

Resentment is not your typical boy meets girl and they fall in love with a dash of petty drama and a happy ending on top. This one actually had me very excited to get to the next page. Now going in I knew everything would not be rainbows and butterflies, but the most meaningful part of the journey. I could not get enough of Mia and Dean banter over the years, which allowed me to adore what they had more. Their story is told over 3 stages Regret,Resentment and Redemption.

Regret - Tells the story of how Dean and Mia became to be. I thought the lengths Dean went to get Mia’s attention were kind of cute. Once alone it didn’t take long to realize for them to realize they were not only compatible, but had similar home lives as well. I found it interesting how they both never shared how bad they actually had it. Once you start to get high on the good feeling that Dean and Mia share then you’re suckered pouched by none other than Dean it's like WHAT. THE.F! just happened. My feelings were hurt too. Please note I hate you Dean and you’re a douche. photo London24_zpsv4bo9wsp.png

Resentment - Fast forward 10 years. Fed up with the direction life is going Mia decides to move in with her brother so she can start over. Before she arrived she learned he had a roommate and can you guess who that happens to be. You only get one guess.Immediately not only did I want to throat pouch him, but also junk pouch him. AT THE SAME TIME.

Redemption - While living together Dean and Mia are forced to coexist under one roof. After much petty antics, tension that you can't believe, and after a drunken kiss it wasn’t surprising sex was next to follow. Eventually we learn why Dean was a complete douche and while I don’t like his reason, I completely get it.

The story is told mainly from Mia’s POV, which was still entertaining, angsty, and face paced. I enjoyed every minute of this story that Nicole created. Honestly I can’t wait to experience more of her talented writing. I would definitely recommend this if you are a fan of second chance love.

“Are you coming to the pep rally tonight?” he asks.

“Probably not.”

“Why?”

“School spirit isn’t really my thing. No offense, but…football isn’t either.”

He laughs, and I suddenly realize that the two of us have never talked about football during our sessions together. In fact, whenever I’ve brought it up, he’s changed the subject to something else.

“Well,” he says, letting my hand go. “You should come for me instead.”

“What? What do you mean?”

“I mean, since you’re not into school spirit or football, but you’re clearly into me, you can make an exception and come tonight.”

“You’re getting quite presumptuous lately.” I put on my best poker face. “Do I need to help you with that definition?”

“Not when I know the true word you’re looking for is cognizant.” He grins, stepping back. “I hope to see you tonight.”

“I’ll think about it.”

“I’m sure you always do.” He gives me a look so sexy that I almost melt into the floor.

Goddamn, Dean Collins…

Blog Tour: Friction by Sawyer Bennett

Friction - Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: October 27, 2015
Series: A Legal Affairs Novel#8
Contemporary, Romance, Erotica,
Goodreads * Amazon * B&N

Synopsis:
At the powerhouse law firm of Knight & Payne, winning comes first and ethics a distant second. Leary Michaels uses her female charms to daze opponents, and it’s always worked well—until now. On her most personal case yet, she finds herself going up against a defense attorney just as skilled, shameless, and seductive as she is.

Reeve Holloway has never met a woman as sure of her own sexuality, or as ruthless in wielding it, as Leary is. But he won’t be toyed with. What Leary starts, he’ll finish—in the courtroom, the bedroom, or any-damn-place he wants. The sex is uninhibited, electrifying, and absolutely against the rules. Reeve’s job is to ruin Leary’s case…even if it destroys her in the process and costs him the woman he’s come to love.

Dear Sawyer,

Thank you, thank you for bringing me out of my reading funk that I was sadly held hostage in for the past few months. I can’t say how much I appreciated this. I absolutely love everything you write and I probably will never get enough and that’s completely ok with me.

** On to my review**

All it took was one ridiculous motion to light a fire under Leary Michaels and she was out for blood. Of course she had to have fun with it by playing seductive mind games with the opposing counsel. While Leary was able to make a fool out of him in court, but she also left him speechless on numerous levels.

photo BattlePlans_zpssavkjkfk.pngBeing the highly confident man the Reeve Holloway is he quickly turned the tables on Leary leaving her in a state awe and but also managed to occupy her thoughts for days after their first meet.

The back and forth banter between Leary and Reeve was more than entertaining, it was also electric and enticing. All of which of the things that kept my Nook glued to my hands.
As the story progress I became more anxious of who would win the ongoing battle both in the courtroom as well as the bedroom.

I adored the Leary’s passion and work ethics for the cases that she took on.Her personality was very down to earth. The only draw back to her was when her lines started to blurred with Reeve when it came to their work life versus personal. While I understand completely especially once learning why she was so invested.

Can I just say that I completely adore Reeve, while he doesn’t fight for the little guy he still does what’s right. I felt bad for him at times because of the position he was in, but he always handled things according. His patience and his no nonsense attitude completely won me over.

photo BreastMan_zpsblirjrgf.pngIf you’ve ever read any of Ms. Bennett’s books chances you already know her reading keeps you on the edge of your seat with angst and sexiness and just emotion. SO MANY EMOTIONS. The story is well written with a dual POV which I ABSOLUTELY love because it gives me a chance to see both sides. The secondary characters always enhance the story and causes me to want to know more about them, but the don’t overtake the story that’s already happening.

The light of his bedroom is muted. No sound but the night and my loud breathing. He
photo Thirty NightsTeaser 1 Inkslinger PR_zps6i7j5exj.jpgis close, very close. I smell sandalwood. Cinnamon. Aiden. I see nothing but him. And he
has turned part beast, part man. The molten blue of his eyes stirs, melts, whirlpools, freezes and revives all over again, in some inner battle.

He caresses my cheek with the backs of his fingers, along my jawline, until he reaches
my lips. He traces my lower lip with his thumb and the edge of his nail scrapes my skin
lightly, back and forth, back and forth. My eyes close, my head lolls to the side.
Then, both his hands frame my face.

“Open your eyes,” he whispers. I do, but my eyelids are heavy.

“Elisa, have you done this before?” His voice is low, almost part of the night. I can only
shake my head.

“La virgen,” he mouths. “Are you sure you want this?”
 photo Thirty Nights Question Teaser_zpsukhuzdub.jpg

This, yes. What’s coming later, no. I nod. Apparently the powers of speech have deserted
me. His lips hover over mine. I feel his hot breath on my mouth.

“I should stop you, but I won’t. Because every day, every hour—awake or asleep —since
I saw your first painting, you have haunted me.” His voice is on a tight leash, and the fire in his eyes rages brighter. One of his hands leaves my face and splays at the small of my back. He presses me against his body. Hardened, coiled. For me. He brings his mouth to my ear.

“I think it’s time I haunt you back.”

Sandi Lynn's THE SEDUCTION OF ALEX PARKER Blog Tour

TheSeductionOAP

BOOK BLURB:

Never stay in one place too long. That was my motto. After the accident, at the age of eighteen, I left my home in California to travel the world, seeking out new and adventurous wonders like my twin sister and I had planned to do since we were kids. Eight years later, I was forced to return home, to the one place that held the most traumatic memories for me. My money was running out and my brother, Adam, refused to send me more until we sat down and had a talk about me settling down in one place. That was when I met billionaire Alex Parker — an arrogant, uptight control freak who thought I would actually listen to him. Boy, did he have another thing coming. My name is Emerson James and this is my story.

She was the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen. But she was mouthy and defiant, just like her brother warned me she was. She was a free spirit and very irresponsible with her life. Not my type at all. I only dated women of an upper class status — the ones who kept their mouths shut and were successful in their careers. I had everything life could offer and I was content. At least, I thought was, until Emerson James came into my life. She was getting ready to go off on another adventure and I was determined to get her to settle down in one place: California. My name is Alex Parker and this is my story.

Alex

I arrived home at seven o’clock to meet my houseguest, take a shower and to change for a dinner date I had. When I walked through the door, the most incredible aroma filled the air. I set my briefcase down and walked into the kitchen, where I found a woman wearing extremely short jeans shorts standing over my stove.
“Ahem.” I cleared my throat.
She didn’t turn around, so I did it again. “Ahem.”
I sighed as I walked over to her and tapped her on the shoulder. She jumped and turned around.
“Jesus Christ, you scared me,” she said as she took her earphones out.
What the fuck? She was no eighteen-year-old. I stared at her ocean blue eyes as she placed her hand over her heart.
“I tried to speak to you, but obviously, you couldn’t hear me.” I pointed to her earphones.
“You must be Alex Parker. I’m Emerson James. Adam’s sister.” She extended her hand.
“Nice to meet you. How old are you?”
“Excuse me?” she asked with a narrowing eye.
“It’s just the way Adam talked about you. I thought you were around eighteen. Obviously, by looking at you, you’re not.”
“I’m twenty-six.”
“I see. Okay. Welcome to my home, Miss James, and please make yourself comfortable. I’m assuming Jenna showed you around the property.”
“Yes, she did. She was very nice. And what exactly did Adam say about me?” she asked with a furrowed brow.
“Not much. I just assumed you were younger. What are you cooking?” I leaned over and looked in the pot that was sitting on the stove.
“Pasta with a homemade palomino sauce.”
“It smells delicious. Adam told me you are quite the cook.”
