What the Lighting Sees - Louise Bay
Series: Lighting #1
Published: March 31, 2015
Genre: Romance, Erotica
Jake Harrison is everything that Haven Daniels hates about men: over-confident, born into money and too handsome for his own good. Haven finds it difficult to keep her opinions to herself and can’t help but tell Jake exactly what she thinks of him, again and again.
Haven Daniels is uptight, smart and a bit of a bitch – the perfect challenge for Jake. It doesn’t hurt that she’s movie star beautiful and has no idea.
Forced to work together, verbal sparring turns into sexual chemistry but men like Jake are trouble and Haven has had enough trouble to last her a lifetime.
Will Haven give into Jake’s charms? Can Jake peel off Haven’s prickly mask, revealing the woman he knows lies beneath?
I find it very devastating that Haven Daniels have never officially left the painfully petty world of high school like behavior. The backstabbing and unprofessional-ism makes me super happy those years are so far behind me. Currently working as a Features Editor for one of the UK’s women’s magazine, Haven is presented an opportunity the could help get her not only interview a hot singer/ actress. Everything about this project is not exactly what Haven envisioned, especially when she was told that she would be working with Jake”Harry” Harrison.
Let’s be honest Haven was somewhat a b* when she met Jake and it was all because she amused who he was. Yes he’s rich, handsome, and her bossy’s friend, but Jake actually has work ethics and talent.Jake is the son of a police officer born and raised on the south side of Chicago, made his money by making very wise investment. Not only that, the money he made didn’t change him, it only changed the way people looked.
There’s a chemistry between these two that only Haven is willing to deny or maybe she knows that Jack is hiding something important from her. Whatever it is at times Haven’s sometime verbal diarrhea makes me crazy.
Louise Bay’s writing is so much fun, I didn’t want to put this one down even when my eyes were begging me.The narration was in dual POV which is my absolute favorite. Of course we’re left with a cliffhanger that I may just need to jump off of if I don’t get the next installment soon. I’m needing to know what happens next.
About the Author
USA Today Bestselling Author Louise Bay writes sexy, contemporary romance novels – the kind she likes to read. Her books Faithful and Hopeful are stand-alone novels although there are some overlapping characters. Bestselling The Empire State Series of novellas starts with A Week in New York. My next series is What the Lightning Sees.
Ruined by romantic mini-series of the eighties, Louise loves all things romantic. There's not enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books and films.
Louise loves the rain, the West Wing, London, days when she doesn't have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne.
She loves to hear from readers so get in touch!
