Coming next: Ashleigh Franklin's story.

So here we are at the third and final part of the Lightning series and we’re sent on an intense emotional roller coaster ride.Things pick up exactly where part 2 left us. Haven and Jake’s relationship has yet taken another unexpected turn due to some devastating news received by Jake’s ex, Millie. Questioning if their love will be able to make it through all of the chaos of self-doubt and uncertainty.

While there were times when the characters namely Haven blatantly refuse to do what was expected of them and it made me very angry times. She has this thing for giving up so easily, I’m convinced that she secretly enjoys being miserable. With that being said Jake’s need to be the good guy sometimes sets him up to be gullible.

Thank you Louise for create another captivating novella with a couple that you just can’t help but to fall in love with. Fingers crossed that Haven’s brother Luke, her bestie Ashley or even will have a chance at their own HEA

Blog Tour: Confessions of a Virgin Sex Columnist! by Kay Marie!

Confessions of a Virgin Sex Columist! - Kay Marie
Published: May 18, 2015
Standalone
Genre: YA/NA, Contemporary, Romance, Humor

From bestselling author Kaitlyn Davis, writing as Kay Marie, comes a new adult romantic comedy about a girl who'll soon discover that some secrets can't be kept forever, especially those of the heart.

My name is Skylar Quinn, I just moved to New York with my best friend Bridget, and I have a confession. Well, more than one. Okay, quite a few really. Fine, here goes!

Confession #1: I'm a sex columnist. Hold on, that's not really the confession. You see, I'm sort of a virgin...sex columnist.

Confession #2: I'm in love with Bridget's older brother, Oliver. No—I was. No—I am. Wait, was? Am? Crap.

Confession #3: I've been avoiding Oliver for four years. Or I was until today, because he just moved in. Yes, you read that correctly. He's my new roommate. So that night we've both been pretending never happened, well, we might not be able to keep it a secret any longer.

And trust me, this is only the beginning.

 photo gray_zps0a15d252.png

Confessions of a Virgin Sex Columnist has to be one of the cutest reads that I’ve read in a long time. The way that it written reminds me of one of those shows you would find on ABC Family or something. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Twenty- Two year old, Skylar (Skye) Quinn recently relocated to New York after graduating and has landed herself a new job as a columnist, but it just so happens to be something she has zero experience with ...sex. Kay Marie somehow managed to make Skylar one of those socially inept, awkward, self sabotaging, and at the same time lovable people ever. The one drawback to her has to be her flightiness and lack of confidence. She was given this remarkable job opportunity, but at the same time she was embarrassed by it.

Sometime ago Kay Marie posted the first chapter and instantly I fell in love and I could not wait to read the remaining story. What are the odds that within the first few pages Skye comes face to face with the one person she has been avoiding for the past 4 years. That said person just happens to be her best friend and roommate's Bridget’s older brother Oliver McDonough. It doesn’t take long to realize that something has happened in the past between these two, but what exactly it's hard to say.

Overall Kay Marie has created something pleasantly remarkable with COAVSC. Even tho is very G-rated, it still had that butterfly romance that everyone adores. I believe I was able to experience most of the major emotions while reading, even that heartbreaking feel. Be advise the ending was a tad unexpected I thought everything was going to end very clean and cookie cutter, like but we’re left with somewhat of a cliffhanger.

Without a doubt I would recommend this to fans of face-paced, romantic comedies with a realistic feel.

About the Author
I've always been a writer. I grew up duct taping my novels together, started writing complete manuscripts in high school and studied creative writing at Johns Hopkins University. Upon graduating, I decided it was finally time to actually give my dream career a chance. So, of course, I started writing a young adult paranormal romance series -- and no, I'm not jumping on the bandwagon. I've been a true paranormal supporter for my entire life! I blame my obsession almost completely on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, my all-time favorite television show. And, before you ask: Yes, I own every season... even the post WB ones! I especially challenge anyone to watch the first three seasons and not fall in love with Angel, securing a lifelong love of vampires! Other culprits of my paranormal obsession are some of my favorite authors: JK Rowling, Raymond Feist, Meg Cabot, Richelle Mead, Lynne Ewing and Tamora Pierce.

Book Review: Chancing On You by Melinda Ellen

Chancing On You - Melinda Ellen
Published May 14, 2014
Stand alone
Gerne: NA. Contemporary, Romance
Goodreads * Amazon * B&N

Hope Andrews has been trying to find her place in the world for the past seventeen years, but being an orphan and getting shipped from home to home hasn't always made it easy. Between her current foster carers who are to busy getting high to the bullies at school who make her life hell, Hope finds solitude in her music. She's silently counting down the days until she turns eighteen and can finally make her escape once and for all, but what she doesn't count on is the new guy Jaxon Broad turning her plans upside down.

After leaving the city behind which was tainted with his past, Jaxon moved to live with his brother. He needed to escape the memories that haunted his dreams and swore him off relationships. So when he lays eyes on the intriguing brunette Hope, he's not prepared for the feelings that keep stirring within.

But will their second chance at happiness be destroyed when their pasts won't let them go?

After reading an excerpt and seeing the title I was more than excited when I was given the opportunity to read Chancing on You, unfortunately for me the excerpt was one of the few highlights while reading this one.

Many times I wanted to give up and put this on a dnf list, that I don’t have because I refuse to quit, not to mention I lead myself to believe that this was going to get better. Considering all of the positive reviews that I read, so either of one of two things happened I received a faulty copy or the issue was with me.

Hope Andrews life was anything, but easy. Her current foster parents were horrible people and that putting it nicely. She’s been subjected to abuse of every form, instead of telling someone she’s just keeps her head down and count down the days until she becomes of legal age. While her head was down she bumped into the newest addition to her school bad boy Jaxon Broad.

Jaxon also has dark cloud over his head and hoping to escape his past. Of course since he’s the new mysterious guy every girl wants him, but the top mean girl get him. didn't find anything special about him, for me he just didn't have that “thing” to make me swoon.

While I did enjoy that there was drama, angst, and my all time favorite dual pov. I just couldn't get into. The characters were flawed, but in the way the slap yourself 3 times type of way. The dialect bothered me a bit, but otherwise Ms. Ellen writing was well done.

Book Review: Sincerely, Carter by Whitney Gracia Williams

Sincerely, Carter by

Published April 29th 2015
Genre: Contemporary, Romance, NA, Humor

Just friends.
We’re just friends.
No, really. She’s just my best friend...

Arizona Turner has been my best friend since fourth grade, even when we “hated” each other. We’ve been there for one another through first kisses, first “times,” and we’ve been each other’s constant when good relationships turned bad. (We even went to colleges that were minutes away from each other…)

Throughout the years, and despite what anyone says, we’ve never crossed the line.

Never thought about it.
Never wanted to.

Until one night changed everything.
At least, it should’ve ...

Just friends.
We’re just friends.
I’m only saying this until I figure out if she’s still “just” my best friend…

 photo picadillygray_zpsaa73e183.png

I don’t even know where to begin when I say how I adored Carter James and Arizona Turner. The day they became best friends, I knew at that moment Whitney Gracia Williams had yet created something awesome. Super happy that this wasn't one of those moments where the hy
pe of a release didn't met my expectation.Since the day I seen I seen the cover and read the blurb my impatient countdown had started.

I really wish you will get hit by a bus one day soon because you suck. You suck A LOT.

It’s nothing like being in love with your best friend, someone that you can talk to about anything and laugh with. Its something special about that one person that you don’t have to say the words, but they know what you mean. That’s the type of bond Carter and Arizona has, even tho it took time for the type of relationship these two had to catch up to what everyone already knew. Their chemistry was something that could not be ignored, they even had the ability to make previous girlfriends/ boyfriends question their relationship.

She  is ugly and she talks way too much
I’m not sure exactly which part of Sincerely Carter was my absolute favorite or maybe it was a combination that the story was told with this sarcastic, flirty yet amusing dual pov. We were giving a glimpse into their past it made it so much more understandable how they became so close and the letters made me smile.

"Thank you for your random thoughts," ... "I was hoping that you would throw some my way today"

Like any worthy romance my emotions were sent into a tailspin and I appreciated it. The ending felt a tad rushed and incomplete. Not sure if it was just me enjoying this too much and wanted more, but I feel like this there story could have went further.

He set my science project on fire after I told him he was ugly ...

Would I recommend Sincerely Carter, yes for so many reasons. Whitney Gracia Williams is definitely one of those authors that need to be on everyone’s one click list.

Yield: A Legal Affairs Story -Sawyer Bennett

Series: Cal and Macy #3
Genre: Contemporary, Romance , Erotic

Yield is the final book the Legal Affairs trilogy of Cal and Macy’s story. Clash and Grind, Books #1 and #2, are now available for purchase.

**Due to sexual content and heavy subject matter of an abusive nature, this book may not be suitable for all audiences.

Yield (verb): to surrender or submit (oneself) to another

Macy Carrington is broken. The strong, beautiful woman that I’ve unwittingly fallen in love with is all kinds of broken from a secret that she has carried for far too long.

A secret so dark, she has gone to great lengths to protect it.

A secret that I’m terrified will one day rip her away from me.

The only time Macy frees herself from the darkness is when she is naked and in my arms. When I am deep inside her body, there is nothing she fears. When she wraps herself around me, she is at peace.

If she would only yield to me completely, I know I can set her free.

* Yield is the final book the Legal Affairs trilogy of Cal and Macy’s story. Clash and Grind, Books #1 and 2, can be found on this retailer’s site for purchase.

 photo black_zps584f1581.png

After reading the last page of Cal and Macy conclusion I had this bittersweet feeling come over me. Cal and Macy’s story has become a quick favorite of mine. So much is revealed, but its done in a way that make you want more. While Ms. Bennett has yet done it again with her talented words and well written story full of angst, tribulation, and seduction.

ComeAgainThe relationship between Cal and Macy continues to grow, as the layers start to shed. Pressure is felted on both sides as secrets have potential to be revealed. At times Cal made me crazy with his obsessive need to protect Macy from her demons, while his heart was in the right place the way he went about doing things was all wrong. I honestly felt that Macy handled herself very well, despite all of mess going on in her life. One thing for sure I know that I dislike her family very, very much.

Yield brings us right where Grind left us with Macy facing some legal issues stemming from her past. We’re finally given answers to the infamous vacation that's in question.I stilled felt like Cal and Macy deserved a longer series, but I’m also pleased how things ended. The Epilogue was definitely the cherry on top. I so cannot wait to experience even more of Ms. Bennett's work.

Published April 27, 2015

Goodreads * Amazon * B&N

Haven had thought she was wrong about Jake, but apparently she should have trusted her instincts. He wasn’t the man she thought he was. The chink that Jake managed to put in her armor has healed over. She’s shut down and as far as she’s concerned, it’s all business between them from now on.

Thrown together on another assignment, anger, frustration and jealousy are at the forefront of Jake’s emotions. Will Jake convince Haven that he really cares or will he let her go as she insists he must?

What the Lighting Sees - Part Two - is the second part in a three part novella series.

Part Three is out on May 25th and is available for pre-order now.

 photo black_zpsddab1925.png
Haven and Jake’s story brings us back to where they left us, not only are Haven’s feelings crushed, but she’s also feeling betrayed by Jake after overhearing his conversation with her boss. While she’s not the only one that’s feeling some kind of way, Jake also is feeling remorseful because not only did Haven misinterpreted the conversation, but he didn't set the record straight. Avoiding Jake is the only way Haven seems to know how to deal with the situation, until circumstances via work allows them to come face to face. While Haven concentrates on keeping up the emotional walls she’s built, Jake is more than determine to break those walls down.

Louise Bay definitely knows how to write a fast pace angsty story full of emotion. Of course similar to part 1 of What the Lighting Sees we’re left with a cliffhanger that makes you gasp and grab at your pearls. Honestly its rather difficult to say more without giving away a few things considering this is such a quick read, what I will say is that I CAN’T NOT wait until the conclusion of Haven and Jake’s story comes the light. Only time will tell if these two will actually be able to have a HEA
